Description
Starfish pendant in fine silver on a shield background. A raised rib runs through each arm, half of which is lightly textured while the other half is more roughly textured with the addition of small spiny knobs. Except for a slight darkening under the knobs, the starfish has no patina. The shield background has a colorful patina of blue-green and copper hues. The best color representation is as seen in the third image.
The entire pendant measures approximately 1 and 5/8 inches wide (42 mm) by 1 and 1/2 (40 mm) tall. The starfish alone is approximately 1 and 1/ 16 inches long (27 mm) by 1 and 1/4 inches (32 mm) wide. This hefty solid-silver pendant weighs approximately 35.1 grams.
A sturdy hidden coral-textured bail on the reverse will accommodate even a large chain. May be worn as a pin; simply insert a safety pin through the bail. The untextured back retains its silver sheen, has two appliqued stars and is stamped with the fine silver mark (.999) and maker’s mark (‘DPV’).
